20 May: The End... for now
Today is a momentous day as it represents Diary's last ever Two Cities Challenge entry. To celebrate this occasion, each of the Team were asked for one final quote to sum up their feelings. As ever, the Team split into their distinct groups...
The Emotional Crowd
Conrad: "A remarkable challenge with a remarkable bunch of guys. What a journey. I have memories that will last forever."
John D: "The most incredible experience of my life."
Pat: "Whoever said that the difference between the impossible and the possible lies in our own determination was 100% on point. My team mates were all heroes - thanks guys."
Rob: "You guys rule my world."
The Jokers
Rhys: "Thanks, everyone."
Seb: "The pain I experienced throughout this Challenge can be nothing compared to the pain Rhys must live with forever, knowing as he does, that I beat him by one second in Paris. Thanks guys for one of the most painful yet wonderful weeks of my life."
John P: "I am as sick as a parrot."
Leon: "Do you think it was my hair that slowed me down in the London Marathon?"
Will: "Thanks to everyone for following me around Northern France. Apologies for clearly bringing the wrong maps."
The Ironmonger
Angus: "What a great experience. I can't wait for the next Challenge. Who else is doing the London Duathlon followed by the Berlin Marathon in September?"
The Brains
Giles: "This Challenge is so last year. Here is the germ of an idea for the California Challenge 2010. Escape from Alcatraz swim, bike 500 miles to San Diego and finish off with the "rock n roll" marathon in San Diego."
Watch this space and thanks so much for all of your support over the past few months. None of us would have been able to complete the Challenge without our families, friends and, most of all, each other.
