21 December 2007: 15 weeks left
This week's sensational news is that Rhys has conquered his demons and has rejoined the Challenge. Despite a week of Christmas refuelling, he is a changed man, organising runs, coming up with charity ideas and lasting the pace on Thursday's world record pace 13 mile run. He did go a worrying shade of green at the post-run carb load but has been passed fit for Friday's Jones Day panto.
Rhys' transformation gives us hope for Seb who is falling apart before our very eyes. He has come last in the under 40 category in both team runs and appeared to be running backwards along the Embankment. His mood swings are now uncontrollable and his sense of humour has temporarily deserted him.
Pat and John D continue to be the quality in the field and Giles' desperate attempts to keep pace with the younger men is not helped by his fartlek obsession.
Pat suffered the first puncture wheeling his bike out of the shop. John P has not picked up his bike yet as he is worried about riding all the way back from Fulham .
Will's nipples are not fully recovered after starting to bleed 6 miles into one his runs. To address the problem, Will has dramatically given up alchohol and fried foods. He has also vowed to get out bed no later than 11.55 on Saturdays.
Angus has had no further take-up for his London to Brighton bike ride.
Steve displayed high fitness levels by drinking until 3am at a wedding on the weekend.
Leon is his normal happy self but things have started to grow out of his head and he is sweating even more than usual. He is the first to set a target for Paris - 3.15.
Neil is excited at having the van resprayed.
Please think of us on Christmas Day. While you are enjoying turkey with all the trimmings and too much Christmas cheer, we shall be training.
